ELA was judged Good in all areas in its latest Ofsted inspection (June–September 2024). The independent provider delivers apprenticeships mainly in early years, health and social care, and business, with most learners being adults studying remotely across England. Inspectors found a strong, respectful learning culture where apprentices feel supported and confident to ask questions. The curriculum is well planned and sequenced, meeting national skills needs and ensuring off-the-job training requirements are fulfilled.

ELA works closely with employers to align training with workplace practice, helping apprentices to apply theory to real settings. Tutors provide detailed feedback, create clear action plans, and adapt sessions to help those at risk of falling behind. Achievement rates are strong, with many apprentices gaining distinctions and progressing into promotions or greater responsibility. Leaders and governors set high expectations, monitor performance effectively, and invest in staff training and professional development, which has already reduced delays in learner progress.

Safeguarding arrangements are robust, giving apprentices confidence that they are well supported. However, inspectors noted two key areas for improvement: some apprentices still do not complete within agreed timescales, and the small number of under-18 learners do not receive sufficiently age-appropriate guidance in areas such as health and healthy relationships. Overall, ELA provides high-quality training that equips apprentices with the skills, confidence, and progression opportunities valued by both learners and employers.
