What is PRINCE2® 7th Edition?
PRINCE2® (Projects IN Controlled Environments) is a structured yet tailorable project management methodology, internationally recognised and used across a wide variety of industry sectors.
It provides a process-based approach to managing projects effectively and is adaptable to projects of any size or complexity.
PRINCE2® 7th Edition is the latest update to the PRINCE2® project management methodology, designed to reflect modern project management practices and emerging trends. It builds on the foundation of previous editions while introducing new concepts such as people management across the ecosystem, commercial aspects, digital tools, and sustainability to ensure the framework remains relevant and impactful. Edition 7 also places more emphasis on how organisations can integrate PRINCE2® with iterative and hybrid ways of working across the project, providing a balance of both effective governance and flexible ways of delivering.
The qualification is ideal for anyone starting their project management career, those currently supporting projects and seeking to harness the power of a methodical, process-driven approach, as well as individuals who hold an Edition 5 or Edition 6 qualification and wish to update their certification.
There are two primary certification levels:
- PRINCE2® Foundation, which introduces the methodology, is designed to test your understanding of the principles, practices, and processes of PRINCE2®, as well as your ability to work effectively within a project team to tailor the method to the specific environment. To earn the qualification, you must complete a one-hour online, closed-book exam with 60 multiple-choice questions.
- PRINCE2® Practitioner, which advances your ability to apply the methodology in real-world scenarios, adapting it to suit different situations and complexities. To earn the qualification, you complete a 2.5-hour online, open-book exam with 70 multiple-choice questions.

Course Structure
Each level (Foundation and Practitioner) consists of 10 half-day (3-hour) online training sessions, completed over a short period of three weeks. Our additional bespoke examination preparation workshops provide practice and reviews of mock exams that align with the live exam. These support sessions have helped build confidence, proven extremely popular, and significantly increased the likelihood of exam success. You can choose to study PRINCE2® Foundation or Practitioner as stand-alone qualifications, or you can complete both qualifications in succession.
ELA will provide outstanding value for money by providing you with the enhanced package of support available for both the Foundation and Practitioner levels, including the online live exam voucher, PRINCE2® e-book, online support materials, mock exam papers, online mock exam and a free resit for the exam if needed.
In addition, you will have a dedicated tutor/coach for each workshop and have access to your tutor for any questions, queries or exam support up to one month after completion of the course. Your tutor will also provide extra resources that go beyond the industry standard.
